In 1971 I purchased this traditional carvel planked ketch, with 3 other companions, and after considerable modifications to make her more suitable for distance cruising, we sailed from Melbourne to Sydney, Lord Howe Island, Noumea, Norfolk Island, Auckland, Wellington, and finally Nelson in New Zealand.
The painting depicts Rahna, with Lord Howe Island in the background, at the mooring where we spent a relaxing week enjoying the superb surroundings, and hiking the nearby peaks. This was still at a time when the flying boat service operated, landing close to our mooring site.
